The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) central office underwent the Stage 1 audit on November 11 and 12, 2015 as part of the requirements in securing ISO 9001:2008 Certification.
During the first day of the audit, a program was conducted at the Office of the Secretary Board Room where the Quality Policy of the DAR central was presented to the external auditors for evaluation. A site tour was then conducted for them to evaluate workplace condition/s in order to determine the physical readiness of the different offices and bureaus of the DAR central office.
The second day of the audit focused on document review and assessment of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) procedures. Process owners were interviewed to the proficiency and condition of their respective office processes. The external auditors then presented their findings and observations of the two-day audit during that day.
The auditors commended the eagerness of the employees to share information and discuss issues for improvement. The auditors also remarked on the keen record management and system in processing data and information using online tools. Observations made by them however, should be addressed and resolved in order to avoid the identification of any major or minor non-conformance during the final audit on December 14 to 16, 2015. The outcome of the Stage 1 audit does not have any bearing on the result of the Stage 2 audit, which will be the final audit by the external auditors before the DAR central finally becomes ISO certified.
Said Stage 1 audit was conducted by external auditors, Mr. Norlito M. Suelo and Ms. Elsa G. Purificacion of the Guardian Independent Certification (GIC) International Compliance Assessors Incorporated.
