The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) – North Cotabato is now ISO 9001:2008 certified.
DAR-North Cotabato was audited by Guardian Independent Certification Ltd (GIC) Philippines, a Philippine-based certification body accredited by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ).
DAR-12 Regional Director Nasser Musali said, “The GIC found that DAR-North Cotabato’s Quality Management System (QMS) adheres to the ISO 9001:2008 standard.” He also added, “Findings revealed that the agency’s leadership and personnel competencies were reliable in accomplishing their goals and objectives.”
Lead external auditor Norlito Suelo explained that the ISO 9001 is a continuing process of improving the QMS of an organization. After the initial certification, GIC will return to conduct surveillance visits to determine if DAR-North Cotabato’s QMS are maintained and if the requirements of the ISO 9001 are consistently conformed to.
DAR-North Cotabato started the certification process on May 2015 and passed the external audit on December 2015. Their ISO 9001:2008 certificate was issued on January 21, 2016. The awarding of certificate was conducted on April 18, 2016 in Clark, Pampanga.
ISO 9001 is an international standard on QMS based on quality management principles to help improve organization’s performance.
