DAR internal auditors participate in certification course

DAR-LogoThe Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) through the Agrarian Reform Capacity Development Course (ARCDS) enlisted the GIC International Compliance Assessors, Inc. Philippines to conduct the ISO 9001 QMS Internal Auditor Certification Course.
DAR central office’s internal auditors and representatives participated in the course which was held from May 30 to June 2, 2016 at Emiramona Garden Hotel in Tagaytay City.

The aim of this course is to provide DAR’s internal auditors with an overview of the ISO 9001 quality management systems and to acquire skills and knowledge in conducting an effective internal audit based on the ISO 9001.

Some of the areas tackled during the 4-day course were the following: introduction to quality concepts and related definitions; review of the ISO 9001 requirements; audit process; roles and requirements of auditor; audit objectives and methodologies; audit planning, conducting and reporting; categorization of audit findings; and post-audit findings.

Aside from deepening their understanding of the ISO 9001 concepts and audit process, the learnings in this course will be applied by the internal auditors during the forthcoming Surveillance Audit which will be held on July 2016.
