The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently conducted an orientation on land use conversion and planning for selected personnel in Ilocos Region (Region 1) to broaden their knowledge on its legal bases and to speed up the processes in land use conversion.
“This orientation aims to arm our point persons and our people in the field, with pertinent information on land use conversion and land use cases. To our new recruits in our teams, this orientation is a must,” said Rolando Cua, Director of the Bureau of Agrarian Legal Assistance.
Resource Speaker Valerie Silva of the Land Use Cases Division of DAR Central Office discussed and enlightened the staff on basic land use conversion and CARP exemption, Administrative Orders and implementing rules and regulations, with emphasis on the usual concerns encountered in verifying applications for land use conversion.
Silva also shared with the participants her personal experiences in the field in dealing with land use cases.
The orientation was conducted at BSA Twin Towers, St. Francis Square, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City. (Katherine Somera)
