DAGUPAN CITY, February 19 (PIA) – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) will conduct a localized information drive to feature successful agrarian reform communities (ARCS) in the country.
DAR, in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), rolled-out its provincial coverage of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) sectoral campaign to document ARCs in Pangasinan. Success stories will be packaged in an audio-visual presentation.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Ma. Ana Francisco said ARCs in Umingan town will be part of the documentation process.
“Some 50 members of the farmer’s cooperative in Umingan town will be interviewed in a focus group discussion for the documentation of their success stories,” Francisco told the PIA.
DAR is the lead implementing agency of CARP that undertakes land tenure improvement, development of program beneficiaries and agrarian justice delivery.
Its vision is a Philippines with just and equitable landownership and empowered men and women agrarian reform beneficiaries, who are productively managing their economic, social and environmental development for a sustained quality of life. (MCA/VHS/PIA-1/Pangasinan)
