The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently launched a Farm Business School (FBS) in Barangay Macupit, Bacarra, Ilocos Norte to enhance the farming and entrepreneurial abilities of its farmer-beneficiaries.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Engr. Vic M. Ines said the business school is designed to improve the marketing strategies of the farmers in the area and is being implemented by DAR in collaboration with the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the local government unit of Bacarra.
He added that there are 30 vegetable farmers who will undergo 30 training sessions and group-based experiential learning activities.
“We will also help them access new markets for their products,” said Ines.
Local government officials of Bacarra promised to assist the farmer-beneficiaries in marketing their products to the different business establishments in the municipality. (By Jorge Guerrero, DARPO Ilocos Norte)
