LAOAG, Ilocos Norte—The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently held a seminar on policy formulation for different Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries’ Organizations (ARBOs) to help them craft policies for their agri-business trading.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Vic Ines said the seminar seeks to help the farmer-participants come up with doable and implementable policies for their rice trading business and common service facilities (CSF) operations.
“This will help put order and direction into the activities and affairs of the ARBOs,” said Ines.
The department tapped political science professor Karl Lenin Benigno of the Northwestern University who taught the farmer-participants on the processes of formulating policies and the proper application of these organizational directives.
Benigno also lectured the participants on the nature, kinds and sources of policies.
The seminar was participated in by farmer-officers of 25 ARBOs of Ilocos Norte and held at the training hall of the division office of Department of Education in Laoag City. (Jorge P. Guererro)
