Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) La Union 2nd District Engineering Office District Engineer Leopoldo F. Mendoza said yesterday that the Bolikewkew Bridge in Burgos, La Union has been completed and was inaugurated recently.
Mendoza said present during the inauguration were La Union Rep. Eufranio Eriguel, Abono party-list Rep. Francisco Ortega, Burgos, La Union Mayor Jose B. Abansi, and DPWH, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), and local government officials.
Mendoza said the construction of the P35-million bridge was implemented by his district with the assistance of the DAR through the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Program (ARISP).
He said the bridge is 45-lineal meters and has pre-stressed concrete girders and approaches.
Mendoza said the bridge that was destroyed by typhoon “Pepeng” will enhance tourism in Burgos, ease travel from La Union to Baguio City, and benefit farmers from Barangays Tomapok and Delles in the municipality.
