The Cooperative Development Authority in Cagayan Valley has renewed the DAR-Cagayan provincial office’s certificate of accreditation, keeping its status as the only CDA-accredited training provider in the province.
CDA-Region 02 Regional Director Angelito U. Sacro handed the renewed Certificate of Accreditation to Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Virgilio M. Acasili on October 9, 2014 at the DARPO in Tuguegarao City.
The CDA accreditation makes DARPO-Cagayan eligible to provide interventions and technical assistance to agrarian reform cooperatives within the province for another two years.
As a CDA-accredited training provider, DARPO-Cagayan has to ensure the provision of financial and standard education suited to the needs of the cooperatives, its officers and its members for them to effectively perform their duties and responsibilities.
DARPO-Cagayan has managed to meet the qualification standards set by the CDA’s accreditation program which is mandated under the Republic Act (RA) 9520 or otherwise known as Cooperative Code of 2008.
RA 9520 or the Cooperative Code requires cooperative officers to undergo series of trainings within two years. The trainings shall enable the officers and members to become competent in managing their cooperatives and sustain their Certificate of Good Standing (CGS).
