DAR enhances employees’ supervisory skills

piaTUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Jan. 3 (PIA) -- Fifty officials and personnel of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) regional office underwent a three-day Supervisory Development Course (SDC) Track 1 training here recently.

The training, which was facilitated by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) regional office, aimed to enhance the competencies of the frontline employees to become better decision makers, problem solvers and best counselors to their subordinates.

Jose Z. Grageda, DAR Undersecretary for Field Operations, said the training is vital for the enhancement of the participants’ capabilities and competencies not only for their present careers but also in the future.

“As frontline service providers, they build the image of the agency which is heavily determined by the impression of the clients on them,” Grageda said.

The topics discussed during the training were Enhancing Personnel Effectiveness, Managing One’s Career, Becoming a Supervisor and The Difference Between Managing and Doing.

Various video presentations, team building and ice-breaker activities also spiced the training which stimulated the participants’ creative minds, boosted their self-outlook, unleashed more their talents and fortified the teamwork among them.

“The training is very useful for us to become more effective in performing our jobs that would lead to the better realization of our Department’s mandate”, Jessie S. Agbayani, Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer shared after the training. (Michael Angelo L. Benigno, DAR-2/ALM/PIA 2)
