DAR delivers Php 9.58-M worth of non-farm enterprises to farmers in Region 2

news reg 1 pix 1 june 22 2016The Department of Agrarian Reform Region (DAR) Region 2 recently delivered Php 9.58 million worth of various non-farm enterprises such as business services, food processing and livestock production to various Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) to boost their household income.

Regional Director Atty. Marjorie P. Ayson said the project is under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS).

“The ARBOs themselves determined their preferred non-farm enterprises. The Sustainable Development Solutions (SDS), the official professional service provider for the Agri-extension Services (AES), assessed the viability of each enterprise,” Ayson added.

She said the fish processing center turned over to Sumnanga Multi-purpose Cooperative (MPC) in Sabtang, Batanes, benefitted 72 farmers-beneficiaries.

Ayson added that MADUVIKA FMPC in Sta. Ana, Cagayan with 276 members received a goat production business and is now waiting to start the sheep production and vermi-culture production.

She said that the SUNRISE MPC with 259 members in Gattaran, Cagayan and known for their famous bugnay wine also received a goat production business and will soon start for upgraded native chicken production and a mini-bakery shop for an oven they will soon receive.

Ayson added that the UNITED CHRISTIAN MPC in Baggao, Cagayan with 63 members was awarded with a goat production business and will soon receive an upgraded native chicken production enterprise.

She added that the DALAOIG MPC. in Alcala, Cagayan received an upgraded native pig production, goat production package and waiting for  an upgraded native chicken production business.news reg 1 pix 2 june 22 2016

Ayson said the MALASATCO in Rizal, Cagayan were awarded a sheep production business and will later receive upgraded native chicken production set and a mini-grocery with mini bakery package to augment their enterprises.

Ayson added that in Isabela, goat production and sheep production packages will be given separately to MASSIPI EAST IRRIGATORS’ ASSOCIATION in Cabagan, Isabela, BARBUEDA DEVELOPMENT COOPERATIVE in Gamu, and Del Pilar MPC in Cabatuan. In addition, the Coops will receive an Electric Sewing Machine, a Sari-sari Store and a Mini-grocery, respectively.

The ARANAAR ARB MPC in Quirino, Isabela known for its lemongrass soaps has earlier received a sheep production package.

Ayson said about 1,953 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Isabela will benefit from the success of these business enterprises.

The Kasibu Farmers Development Coop is the lone recipient of non-farm enterprise in the province of Nueva Vizcaya with 728 members will receive vermi-culture production, upgraded native chicken production, upgraded native swine production and a sari-sari store with mini-bakery.
