DAR Undersecretaries meet local media in Region 02

news reg 2 pix 1 oct. 17 2016Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Undersecretaries fro Finance, Planning and Administration Office and Field Operations Office Atty. David Erro and Atty. Marcos Risonar, Jr, respectively, led the press conference in Hotel Roma, Tuguegarao City and discussed the changes that the administration of Secretary Rafael “Ka-Paeng Mariano is currently initiating in the agency.

Risonar said the DAR now has more elbow room to implement genuine agrarian reform.

He said that as a former leader of the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) bias would always be in favor of the farmers. Any doubt will be resolved in favor of the farmer beneficiaries,’’ said  Risonar

Erro added that the standing mandate of Secretary Mariano is  that “no farmer, whether an ARB or not, will be ejected from the land he is tilling.”

As to the two-year moratorium on land use conversion, the two USECs assured the media that there are exemptions to the rule and development will not be hampered.

On the issue on double issuance of titles, Regional Director Atty. Marjorie P. Ayson admitted the shortcomings in previous documentation and assured the media that her  office is currently undertaking the proper actions to resolve the same.

Present during the press-con were the local media entities in the region namely: Philippine Information Agency headed by Regional Director Purita S. Licas, Bombo Radyo Tuguegarao, RBS Cable Master System, DZCV Sonshine Radio, and DZRH. (Ma. Isaandra N. Miguel)
