The DAR through the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP) gave a package of bamboo skills training, establishment of bamboo nursery and bamboo plantation and two units of hand-tractor with accessories to Roma Sur Multi-Purpose Cooperative at Enrile, Cagayan.

The other cooperative, the MBG Farmers-Irrigators Association at Rizal, Cagayan received the following: an organic fertilizer (vermi) skills training, the establishment of organic fertilizer (vermi) production, one unit hand tractor with complete accessories and one unit shredder.

“This project under the CRFPSP is a multi-sectoral effort which aims to protect the environment. It seeks to reduce poverty by creating sustainable employment and income-generating opportunities for the farmers,” explains DAR Regional Director Homer P. Tobias.

Tobias said the CRFPSP involves wide range components which include the provision of climate change orientations and skills trainings as well as the provision of farm machineries and equipment after which an enterprise for both farmer organizations will be established.news reg 1 pix 2 march 6 2018

“The project under the VLPCEP includes the improvement, enhancement, and expansion of existing building intended as a production center for livelihood enterprise of farmers. This is in compliance with the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) requirement,” Tobias said.
