DAR employees play Santa to indigent families

piaTUGUEGARAO CITY, Dec. 19, (PIA) - - Employees of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Region 2 reached out poor families in Barangay Linao East, here in their Christmas gift giving project.

Some eighty indigent families of said barangay were given Noche Buena package through the collaboration of DAR's employees' association, ladies association and multi-purpose cooperative.

Atty. Marjorie P. Ayson, regional director, said the gift giving outreach program of the men and women of DAR is an initiative to make their Christmas celebration worthy and memorable, bringing joy and hope to some in need families.

She explained that they chose Linao East as it is one of the barangays of this city with many indigent families deserving of the simple gifts from the said agency.

“This is the first time we conduct this activity and our provincial offices have their own outreach programs too like this. The part 2 for Tuguegarao City will be at Barangay Capatan tomorrow,” Ayson said.

Aside from the Noche Buena package, day care children were also given toys and slippers and some other gift items. (OTB-PIA2/Cagayan)
