Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Region 2 Director, Atty. Marjorie P. Ayson, recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Kayapa Mayor John D. Balasya for the construction of eleven (11) foot bridges worth P12.1 million that would benefit farmer-beneficiaries in Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya.
Ayson said the construction of 11 Concrete Tire Path and Construction of 305-m. foot bridge includes the Pangawan-Nayao Road, Tidang Village-Amelong Labeng Road, Salinas-Ub-ube Road, Mongol-Aw-awa-Caritas Road, Ub-ube-Binalian Road, Baliyoyo-Bolo-Kellet Road, Baan-Buyasyas Road, Talecabcab-Indopit-Ansipsip Road, Pallas-Nansiakan Road, Ub-Ube-Mongol Road and Acasia-Cahel Road.
The said project is part of the Grassroots Participatory Budgeting, formerly known as the Bottom-up Budgeting (BUB), as a strategy to pursue the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) to reduce poverty incidence in the countryside.
Ayson said DAR Region 2 will release funds for the said projects and coordinate with local government unit (LGU) of Kayapa in overseeing and monitoring the implementation of the project through periodic inspection, verification and measurement of completed works.
The local government unit of Kayapa on the other hand is required to comply with the monitoring and evaluation requirements of the DAR, and procure goods and services needed for the implementation of the project. (PNA)
