DAR trains more Bataan co-ops

mstlogoABUCAY, Bataan—Agrarian reform cooperatives in the province continue to undergo training from Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Bataan.

Norma S. Evangelista, senior DAR program officer, said a two-week Microfinance Forum and Credit Management Seminar was held to familiarize officers who are mostly beneficiaries the department on transactions, funding practices and requirements.

She said speakers from finance institutions based in Central Luzon were tapped to discuss the policies and mechanisms of availing loans offered by DAR Agricultural Credit Policy Council.

Evangelista said the fund from DAR will be processed through the Land Bank of the Philippines.

She said DAR Bataan has completed at least 14 training sessions for agrarian cooperatives as mandated by Republic Act 9520 or the Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008.

Engr. Eric San Luis, DAR Bataan head, said seminars and workshops under the training program are needed by cooperatives to obtain a Certificate of Good Standing.

Evangelista said DAR has also conducted Gender and Development (GAD) seminar to complement technical trainings covered by CDA memorandum circular.
