DAR Bataan now accredited training facilitator for coops

gitnang luzonABUCAY, Bataan — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Bataan is the only DAR entity in the country accredited by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to facilitate trainings for cooperatives, according to Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Engr. Eric San Luis.

He added that DAR Bataan has been accredited by CDA following the accomplishment of the series of requirements.

Last week, San Luis personally saw the DAR Bataan’s conduct of training on Strategic Planning to the second batch of agrarian reform cooperatives held at Villa Amanda Resort, this town.
The Strategic Planning is the 5th training the DAR Bataan has provided to agrarian reform cooperatives in the province.

San Luis said they have already conducted trainings on Basic Coop Course, Coop Governance Management, Financial Management, and Leadership Values Information to agrarian reform cooperatives in the province last year.

He said they will continue to conduct trainings this year to complete the 14 topics required for cooperatives based on Republic Act 9520 or the Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008.
San Luis pointed out that the cooperatives need to undergo all the 14 trainings in order for them get Certificate of Good Standing.

“We are providing them the trainings for free in order for them to get certificate. Other training facilitators are charging fees”, he said.

Agrarian reform cooperatives are those being assisted by DAR, and whose members are mostly agrarian reform beneficiaries.

DAR Bataan is scheduled to conduct another training next week. “We will have trainings separately for cooperative officers, board members of the coops, and bookkeepers and accountants,” Senior Agrarian Reform Program Officer Norma S. Evangelista earlier said.

Expert Reynan Calderon is DAR training consultant.
