The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has recently lauded the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in their indispensable role in the peaceful and orderly installation of agrarian reform beneficiaries to their landholdings in San Francisco, Quezon Province.
Sec. Virgilio R. de los Reyes personally expressed his deep appreciation to the AFP –PNP, without which the gains of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) of the government might have long been compromised.
He saluted them for being the guardians in the peaceful and orderly implementation of CARP.
De los Reyes awarded plaques of recognition to four officers of the AFP namely: Lt. Gen. Ricardo R. Visaya, Col. Rhoderick M. Parayno, Lt. Col. Ernest John C. Jadloc, 1Lt. Mark Angel R. Arguelles, and ten officers of PNP namely: Dir. Ricardo C. Marquez, Supt. Roman C. Arugay, Chief Supt. Richard A. Albano, Sr. Supt. Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, Sr. Supt. Ronaldo Genaro E. Ylagan, Supt. Vilmor Manzano, Supt. June P. Urriquia, Supt. Ranser A. Evasco, Sr. Insp. Rodelio M. Calawit and Sr. Insp. Reden L. Romasanta.
Lt. Gen. Visaya, commander of Southern Luzon Command, AFP expressed his appreciation to the DAR for recognizing their effort and assured full support to all programs of the DAR.
Earlier, a PNP-AFP Detachment and a DAR-led Inter- Agency Action Center were set up within the CARP covered landholdings to ensure that peace and order would prevail in the affected areas and the support services for the farmers would flow unhampered.
