DAR-Batangas holds turnover rites of PAROs

Z REGL 20151111 R04A BATRegional Director Rudy Pangilinan led the turnover rites of four Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officers (PARPOs) at the recent oath-taking ceremony held at the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office (DARPO) in Lipa, Batangas.

Pangilinan swore in to office James Arsenio O. Ponce as PARPO II for DARPO-Batangas. “Ponce replaced PARPO II Elizabeth Z. Villapando who was reassigned in Laguna while PARPO II Lucie Campomanes of Laguna will be transferred to Quezon 1,” said Pangilinan.

“Merle H. Manalo, the PARPO of Quezon 1 is now assigned here in DAR-Batangas and will act as Assistant PARPO to Ponce,” added Pangilinan.

Upon receiving the symbolic key from outgoing Villapando, Ponce vowed to give his best to accomplish the tasks in land tenure improvement, program beneficiaries’ development and legal assistance to farmers.

“For two years as your PARPO 1, I have learned your strengths and weaknesses. I hope that you retain your strengths for all the work that we have to do. I also hope that you also give to me the same support that you gave to PARPO Villapando. Together, we will serve our farmers and help develop our rural communities,” said Ponce.

In her speech, PARPO Villapando thanked her staff and colleagues for taking-care of her during her stay as PARPO. “I will never forget DARPO-Batangas because this is where I started my tour of duty as PARPO II. And I didn’t fail because you were all very zealous and supportive of everything we did.”

The oath-taking was held on October 22, 2015 at the DARPO in Lipa, Batangas. (Ruel B. Santos)
