DAR validates farm machines of agrarian cooperatives

news reg 2 pix 1 may 26 2016BATANGAS—The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently conducted a series of on-site validation of farm machines given to agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) here to check and secure its status and to know if the machines are being utilized accordingly by the ARBOs.

Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Ma. Surallah Rabino said most of the machines validated were in good condition. “We are proud to say that most of the cooperatives earned extra income by renting out their equipment to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and other farmers.”

Rabino said the farm machines were analyzed based on focal points such as full utilization, underutilization and non-utilization.

“Machines that fall in the category of non-utilization will be retrieved by [the] DAR for transfer to other ARBOs who need them. Meanwhile those [machines] that are underutilized will be modified and upgraded to suit the need of the farmers,” explained Rabino.news reg 2 pix 2 may 26 2016
