DAR distributes 112.32 has. of lands in Cavite

news reg 1 pix 1 august 26 2018Barangay Biga, Silang, Cavite – 163 Cavite farmers are now new landowners after they received their certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) from Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary John R. Castriciones, on Saturday, August 25, 2018 held at the International Institute for Rural Reconstruction.

The agricultural lands covering 112.32 hectares were distributed to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from the municipalities of Naic, Tanza, Trece Martirez City, Dasmarinas, Magallanes and Indang Cavite.

Castriciones said the department is working hard to increase its issuance of CLOAs and speed-up giving various support services to CARP farmer-beneficiaries because President Rodrigo Duterte ordered him to look after the welfare of the farmers and improve their living conditions.

“Now that you have your land titles, I encourage you to join agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) because it is through these organizations that the DAR courses through its various support services,” Castriciones said.news reg 1 pix 2 august 26 2018

The DAR chief told the farmers that if they have concern on their start-up capital to make their lands productive, they can avail of the Land Bank of the Philippine’s Accessible and Sustainable Lending Program, in which credit are very accessible to most farmers at a low interest rate of 6% per annum.

“The department also has a housing program for the farmers, we already have its pilot project in the central office and other parts of the country including Nueva Vizcaya, Cebu, and Davao, among others. When this program reaches your community avail this program because you also need to have a house of your own,” he advised the farmer-beneficiaries.
