The Kalamansi Concentrate with ginger and honey, a hall of fame product awardee of MIMAROPA Region (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) in Agraryo Tradefair (ATF), was one of the 20 various products of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) showcased at the Food and Drink Asia 2014 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City held on September 4-7, 2014.
It was the first time that the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) participated in the said marketing event thru the assistance of UMIC International Inc., the professional service the Department had tapped under the Up-Valuing partnership project to assist selected ARBOs on product enhancement and marketing. The project sought to develop marketing mechanisms for ARB products and help ARBOs engage in profitable and long term arrangements.
Food and Drinks Asia was a venue for food and beverage entrepreneurs where they could showcase their products and services, business ideas and solutions elemental to an entrepreneurs’ goal to develop or upgrade a food business and keep up with the global trend for the latest innovation in food products and technology that are being applied worldwide.
Matulatula ARC Cooperative (MARCCO) of Oriental Mindoro with 166 members is the producer of the Kalamansi Concentrate with ginger and honey. Mindoro pasalubong center, Japan International Cooperation Agency, and Pola town are some of the existing markets of the product. (Gefelyn Articona)
