Provincial Stakeholders In Romblon To Support Ginger-Based Value-Adding Project

news regional june 26 2015 1The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has recently conducted a provincial multi-stakeholder consultative forum thru the Agrarian Reform Communities Project II (ARCP II)  among key partner organizations to strengthen inter-agency collaboration for Agri-Enterprise Development (AED) in Romblon.

PARPO Camilo Claro Pacquing acknowledges the presence of all the partner agencies – Provincial LGU headed by Governor Firmalo, Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Municipal LGU of Magdiwang, private partner and the proponent organization.

Pacquing emphasizes that the convergence effort is to improve the quality of life of the farmer-beneficiaries through increased productivity and household income from sustainable ginger agri-based enterprises.news regional june  26 2015 2

”Eight months before ARCP II operations ends, there is a need to ensure that AED projects being implemented including interventions lined up for implementation be sustained by all concerned stakeholders”, said by Ms. Luz Ani, National AED Specialist, stressing the importance of the activity.

Governor Eduardo Firmalo  supports the project and promote the Integrated Approach being envisioned in the province, the connectivity among the MIMAROPA Region and focusing on products that are uniquely Romblon.

Among the commitments during the forum were the processing equipment and working capital for the DOLE, planting materials for the establishment of one hectare ginger nursery demofarm for the PAO, agri-technician/technologist for Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) and facilitation of proposals for DOLE being the accredited co-partner for the Municipal LGU-Magdiwang.
