The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently conducted credit program meeting with the Land Bank of the Phil. (LBP), Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officers (PARPOs) of DAR at Lantaka Hotel in Zamboanga City.
Regional Director Engr. Felix Aguhob, sat down with the local program management committee which includes the heads of LBP, DA and the PARPOs of DAR and discussed the department’s accomplishments on the Agricultural Production Credit Program (APCP) from January to August 2015.
The APCP is a joint DAR-LBP credit and capacity development program designed to respond to the financial needs of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) on various economic projects such as agricultural crop production, agri-enterprise and livelihood projects.
According to Aguhob, for the current year, DAR-Region IX targeted 28 ARB organizations and 1,817 ARBs to be enrolled under APCP in the amount of P 85.9 million.
“As of the first quarter of 2015, a total of P7.6 million was approved under the program benefiting four ARB Organizations and 184 ARBs,” added Aguhob.
“With only three remaining months of the year to cover the balance under the APCP program, we also discussed strategies we need to take. And for a smooth implementation, we also reiterated to the local management committee each members’ duties and responsibilities,” said Aguhob. (Ma. Socorro C. Reambonanza)
