Farmers undergo audit management training
The farmer-members were trained on accounting, auditing and writing internal audit reports.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Leonito Gaveria said “the department sees the need to train the farmer-members to prevent or at least decrease the cooperatives’ unwise spending.”
“These courses would help them see exactly where the cooperatives’ funds are going,” added Gaveria.
“Most of us were high school graduate only, that’s why we are so thankful that we were given this chance to learn these courses. Our cooperative is new, thus, we really need trainings like these,” said Isidro Gracilla, Chairperson of Bigkis Cooperative in Irosin, Sorsogon.
The audit management training were attended by members of 13 ARBOs namely: Asenso Bulusan Credit Cooperative; BAMUCO; BHARBEDECO; BIGKIS Cooperative; BUFAFIDECO; CADECO; CABAMUCO; CARFADECO; JUMUCO; MADECO; SAFADECO; SCCPC; and SCDECO.
Audit Management Training is one of the five trainings under the DAR’s Cooperative Strengthening Projects. The first three trainings were conducted in the previous quarters namely: the Pre-membership Education Seminar; the Training on Strategic Planning; and the Records Management Training.
The last of the five trainings will be about conflict management scheduled on December 2015. (Alura Jaso)
