DAR turns over deep well pumps in Masbate

Z WEB 20160108 NATL R05 MEDEL ARISP III-PWS 1The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently turned over seventeen deep well pumps under its Potable Water System (PWS) project to provide sufficient and clean water to members of farming community in Cueva agrarian reform community (ARC), San Pascual, Masbate.

OIC-Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Herald Tambal said the total cost of the project amounted to P 1,417,198.00  “This is one of the major DAR projects in the ARC under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project III (ARISP III),” Tambal said.

The deep well pumps are designed to provide clean drinking water to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and other residents in Cueva ARC. In order to give the residents of the community equal and fair access to the water facilities, the pumps were strategically distributed to seventeen (17) Sitios in the barangay.

"The PWS is a very practical and useful project to our farmer-beneficiaries since Cueva ARC is in an island municipality where water supply is scarce. I commend the LGU of San Pascual under the leadership of Mayor Zacarina A. Lazaro for always supporting DAR's projects in Cueva Agrarian Reform Community." PARPO Tambal said.

This partnership project between DAR and LGU San Pascual complements the 34.2 million pesos worth ARISP III - Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) which was turned over last May of 2015.
