DAR Regional Director Luis B. Bueno, Jr said the Php 25 million worth sub-projects includes the concreting of five farm-to-market roads (FMR) with total physical measurement of 3 kilometers specifically P2 Matacong FMR, San Ramon P1 to P2 FMR, Matacong-San Isidro FMR Extension, San Felipe-Mantugawe FMR, and Malancao-Basud P6 to P7 FMR.

He added that the four social infrastructure projects include the San Ramon Multi-Purpose Pavement/Solar Dryer and Day Care Centers of Barangays San Ramon, Matacong and San Isidro in San Lorenzo Ruiz.

“As soon as I signed the turn over documents, the roads, solar dryers and day-care centers are now at your disposal,” Bueno said. “It is my fervent wish that you uphold and preserve those projects to achieve its maximum useful life and longevity”.

Bueno said the projects are anchored on the improvement of agricultural production to boost farmers’ income and for the school children to have a decent place where they can conduct their preliminary education.

He said accessibility leads to full utilization of agricultural lands because farmers’ produce would find its way easily to the market center.

“The concreting of road is expected to benefit 1,500 agrarian reform beneficiaries in three municipalities. The travel hours will be trimmed down by half an hour and decrease the cost of fare to transporting publics.” he added.

In the same occasion, Undersecretary Rosalina Bistoyong visited two agrarian reform beneficiary organizations (ARBOs), the Caayunan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CMPC) and the Basud Coconut Pineapple Cooperative (BACOPICO) in Basud, Camarines Norte.

CMPC is known for its pure pineapple juice and other pineapple by-products and BACOPICO has been producing first-class geo-nets. The visit was intended to identify additional interventions needed by the ARBOs to sustain their enterprise by 2016 according to USEC Bistoyong. (Nilla P. Lagatuz/Julie Ann S. Botardo)
