Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Gay Labad said the caravan seeks to provide farmers, particularly the women on their basic rights and services; and to protect women farmers and their children against violence in various forms.

“The caravan aims to inform the rural folks, especially the women, in what the government can offer them in terms of services. We invited various government agencies to join us in going from town to town providing and informing the rural folks of what their rights are and what they can avail from each government agency,” Labad said.

According to GAD Secretariat Head Atty. Althea Oliveros, the Caravan for Rural Women targets to serve at least 500 women farmer-beneficiaries and their families in the Bicol region alone.news reg 1 pix 2 oct. 25 2017
