ARCs Participate in Catandungan Trade Fair

5THE DAR CATANDUANES BOOTH during the local trade fair held at Virac town plaza. Participated by different Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) with their respective products and PO representative. Manning the booth were (from left) PIMAO Becky Clemente, Asst. Stat. Anne Perez and other visiting DARPO staff. The ARC products are not losing their buying charm. Year -in and year- out, the DAR –Catanduanes continues to participate in local investments trade fair. Recently, a local trade fair happened spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry in cooperation with the DAR, DA, CSU (Academe), LGU, and other agencies, Peoples’ Organizations, NGOs  Associations  and other interested entrepreneurs in Catanduanes, exhibited the One-Town-One-Product trade fair held at Virac town plaza.
Participating ARCs and their POs were Burabod (Bislig-Cabcab MP Cooperative, San Andres), Macabuluhan (Macabuluhan Producers Cooperative, Manambrag, San Andres), Milaviga (Milaviga ARB Organization), and Burac East (K-4 saMislagan, Capilihan, Virac). Prominent among the products featured in the booth were pilinut candies, pili pulp oil, softbroom, hammock, nitto craft, and home decors. Other agri- products were coconut, banana, gabi, among others. PIMAO Clemente revealed that the DAR generated a net income of P 9, 684.00 for the ARC products sales alone.

During the opening ceremonies of the trade fair which was attended by PARPO Alexander T. Teves, together with the rest of the Catanduanes Chief of Government Offices was impressed that DAR booth have an evolving Agri-products that can spur more income and competitiveness of Agrarian Communities.
On his part, DTI Provincial Director Heginio A. Baldano expressed his continued support to the DTI-sponsored ARC industries, saying further that he hopes to see more enterprising beneficiaries that would show-up in the next trade fairs not just in the province but outside it such as the OK Bikol and the Megamall trade fair.
