Agrarian beneficiaries get more service facilities

piaNEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Dec. 23 (PIA6) - - The Department of Agrarian Reform–North gives out more common service facilities (CSF) under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services program or ARCESS to agrarian reform beneficiaries.

Five agrarian reform beneficiary organizations namely Bennez ARB Farmers Association, Sitio Ecogan ARB Association, Hacienda Bongco Farmers Association, Dalayapan ARB Association and CASA Agrarian Reform Cooperative received a total of P6.572 million worth of CSFs.

The Dalayapan ARB Association of Barangay Caduha-an in Cadiz City received a brand new unit of 120 horse power-four wheel drive Massey Ferguson farm tractor with implements amounting to P5.9 million

Dalayapan has more than 250 hectares of land to till combined from the certificate of land ownership awarded to its members.

Each of the remaining four ARBOs received a total of P168,000 worth of service facilities particularly those needed in rice and vegetable production.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Teresita Mabunay said this is the 2ndTranche of common service facilities distributed to ARBOs which started with eight tractors and farm implements in September this year.

“DAR facilitated the release of these CSFs as our Christmas gift to our agrarian reform beneficiaries while the first batch of tractors given were manna from heaven,” Mabunay said.

According to Mabunay, these will be an enormous boost to farmer beneficiaries which in no time contribute to having enough food on their table, roof over their head and education to their children.

“We want you to become entrepreneurs and not remain as ARBs forever through the business development services offered by DAR,” Mabunay added. *(JCM/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
