DAR to install 348 Sara land reform beneficiaries

panaynewsILOILO City – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Region 6 is set to implement the Writ of Installation of 348 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) to the 336.8-hectare Sanson Estate in Sara, Iloilo tomorrow.

According to DAR-6 agrarian reform program officer Harriet Loot, the total area acquired for beneficiaries was part of the total 427.3-hectare land owned by siblings Alfredo and Federico Sanson.

It straddled six barangays – Alibayong, Labigan, Bagaygay, Batitao, Apologista, and San Luis.

“What will happen on Wednesday is a ceremonial installation,” said Loot, also the chief of DAR-6’s Land Tenure Improvement Division.

Around 150 policemen from Sara and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) will help ensure that the installation is peaceful and orderly.

There are 45 Collective Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CCLOA) for the 348 ARBs.

Loot said the area was offered by the landowners in 1992.

In Aug. 8, 1994, a memorandum of valuation was issued by the Land Bank of the Philippines and by May 5, 1995, a Notice of Valuation was issued.

In Sept. 28 and Dec. 28, 1995 and Nov. 14, 1997, it was registered for CCLOA.

The Writ of Installation was issued in July 27, 2012./PN
