DAR: P17.4M equipment for Negros ARBOs arrive
Five threshers and three Massey Ferguson 120-horsepower farm tractors with accompanying implements worth P17.4 million are set to be distributed to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations in northern Negros Occidental, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program officer I Milagros Flores said Friday.
The equipment arrived at the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office - Northern Negros Friday.
The DAR Northern Negros is still finalizing the list of recipients. The deserving ARBO's will not only receive the equipment as CSF's, but also technical and technological assistance through basic management trainings, Flores said.
The tractors and threshers comprised the common services facilities (CSF's) available for award to qualified ARBO's, through the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCESS), she added.
ARCCESS is one of various support programs under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) for the benefit of ARBOs to ensure their farms' high productivity. Through ARCESS, DAR usually provides CSF's to deserving ARBO's that cultivate sugarcane, rice, corn, coconut and value-added products, vegetables, cassava, rubber, and palm oil, Flores said.*PSF
