DAR to grant Php4-M credit line to farmer-organizations in Aklan

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO) Ma. Teresa C. Valencia said the credit line of more than P1-million for each farmer-organization are granted under its Agrarian Production Credit Program (APCP). The recipients include KAMMANA agrarian reform community (ARC), DUCOFA multi-purpose cooperative (MPC), SANDONNA MPC, and Aparicio AR cooperative.
APCP is a credit program to achieve sustainable crop production and increase household income of ARBs by providing them capital for farm inputs.
It also has a built-in insurance plan for the ARB and the members of immediate family in case of accident and death and for crops that are damaged due to typhoons or other forms of calamities.
The said activity was held during the recently conducted Aklan Agrarian Reform Summit attended by 220 multi-stakeholders of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP). The event was held at the ABL Sports and Cultural Center, Kalibo, Aklan, in partnership with the DAR and the Provincial Agrarian Reform Coordinating Committee (PARCCOM) to mark the 27th CARP and 6th CARPER anniversary in the country.
"Our farmers are the stars of this occasion and they should be honored as our silent heroes, because they feed the Aklanons," said Valencia.- PNA — KBAPI
