NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, April 4 (PIA6) - - The Provincial Office of Department of Agrarian Reform – Negros Occidental 1 women employees were briefed on safety and protection as part of the Women’s Month celebration.
The DAR-North office in full woman force of its lady employees and led by Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Teresita Mabunay were given tips, guidelines and positive responses against harassment and oppression or maltreatment.
Lady Police Officer 3 April Diamante, deputy chief of the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Bacolod City Police Office briefed the participants on welfare, safety and protection of women and children.
The briefing was held at the Baldevia Building, San Sebastian Street, Bacolod City on March 22, 2016, a release from from DAR-1 said.
Aside from the briefing, health and wellness were also discussed by the herbal medical expert Imelda Gamboa of Herbalife.
Gamboa discussed proper diet and appropriate food intake to attain the desired metabolic age.
The ladies were also treated with a massage by the blind masseuse and masseurs, another advocacy campaign of the department in helping those persons with disabilities.
The event is in response and support to the call of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and this year’s theme is “Kapakanan ni Juana, Isama sa Agenda!” (Include Women in the Agenda).
The basis of the celebration is the Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988 providing for the observance of the Month of March as Women’s Role in History Month.*(JCM/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
