ILOILO CITY HALL (Sept. 8, 2016)—Secretary Rafael Mariano paid a courtesy call to Gov. Arthur Defensor to personally thank him for all the latter’s unwavering support to the Department of Agrarian Reform in the implementation of agrarian reform programs.
“His support greatly contributed in uplifting the Ilonggo farmers from poverty. The governor also helped a lot in the development of agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) and rural communities which empowered the farmers of Iloilo,” Mariano said.
Mariano was in Iloilo to dialogue with farmers who were asking to be installed in their respective farmlands. The dialogue was organized by Monsignor Meliton Oso of the Jaro Archdiocesan Social Action Center. (Pinky Roque)
