“Sadto, hunahuna ko nga ang mga duta ila lang sa mga manggaranon (I thought before that lands are only for the rich),” Duron admitted when she was asked to speak during the distribution of certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) in Roxas City, Capiz on Tuesday, May 8.

Now, she said that poor farmers can own the land they till through the program of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

“Salamat DAR, salamat President Duterte (Thank you DAR, thank you President Duterte),” Duron exclaimed as she ended her message.

A total of 157.0374 hectares of lands divided into 240 CLOAs were formally handed over to 154 agrarian reform beneficiaries in a ceremony held in Roxas City on Tuesday.

Leandro Caymo of the Bureau of Land Tenure Improvement (BLTI), Asst. Director Joey Sumatra of BLTI and DAR Region VI Asst. Dir. Gideon Umadjay, Jr.

“I’m happy that you are now owners of the land you till for years,” Bello said as he also told the ARBs that President Duterte has mandated DAR to look for more lands that can be distributed to farmers.

Aside from land distribution, DAR, under the leadership of Secretary John Castriciones is also strengthening its support programs and services to the ARBs and their communities.

The official turn-over of millions worth of support services was also facilitated during the ceremony to two agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in the province of Capiz.

A 4-wheel drive 90 horsepower Mccormic Tractor was formally handed down to the Agrarian Reform Cooperative of New Guia, an ARBO from Maayon town.

The tractor is already equipped with custom disc plow, trailing harrow and a trailer truck.

According to the estimates of DAR-VI, around 546 hectares of rice, 222 hectares of corn and 287 hectares of sugarcane lands will directly benefit from the services of the newly-acquired tractor.news reg 1 pix 4 may 9 2018
