DAR, Silliman ink MOA on ARCCESS Project

visayan dailyThe Department of Agrarian Reform and Silliman University signed a memorandum of agreement on business development services under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services Project at the Bethel Guesthouse in Dumaguete City recently, a government press release said.

DAR 7 regional director Stephen Leonidas and SU president Ben Malayang III signed the MOA after Silliman passed the eligibility requirements for consultant through a competitive bidding, in compliance with Republic Act 9184, or an act providing for the modernization, standardization and regulation of the procurement activities of the government.

The ARCCESS Project is a support service delivery mechanism of the DAR, created to contribute to the overall goal of rural poverty reduction, particularly in agrarian reform areas, the press release also said.

Also at the signing were DAR assistant directors Antonio del Socorro and Eddie Agac-ac, DAR Bidding and Awards Committee members, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program officers Grace Fua and Louie Naranjo, and Gloria Futalan, Elizabeth Karla Aguilan and Loren Ann Lachica of SU, the press release added.*
