86 ARBs get CLOAs

visayan dailyEighty-six agrarian reform beneficiaries received their Certificates of Landownership Ownership Award Tuesday in Barangay Azagra, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental.

The distribution of CLOAs covering the 88.0015-hectare landholding in Candanque, Azagra, Tanjay City, was initiated by the Department of Agrarian Reform provincial and municipal offices of Tanjay, in coordination with the Tanjay City Assessor's Office and Treasurer's Office, Gherelene Rafols of the Department of Agrarian Reform said in a press release.

The estate was formerly owned by the Pamplona Plantation Company Inc., represented by then Senator John Osmeña.

Municipal Agrarian Reform program officer Felipe Gaviola and his staff attended the activity, with the Tanjay City Assessor‘s Office and Treasurer's Office representatives, Gilton Bation of the Land Bank, Barangay Captain Felix Mira Jr. of Azagra, and other barangay officials.

The ARBs were reminded of their rights and obligations to the Land Bank of the Philippines, and other local offices in charge of tax assessment and collection.*JFP/PR
