TAGBILARAN CITY.- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Bohol conducted an election last week held at the BODARE Hall, Dao District this city in order to fill-up some of the vacant sectoral representatives of the Presidential Agrarian Reform Coordinating Committee (PARCCOM) in Bohol.
PARPO Grace Fua, the Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer of DAR Bohol bared that apart from PARCCOM Chairman Virgilio Zabala who is a presidential appointee, the following re-elected and elected representatives completed the composition of the said committee in Bohol.
They are re-elected Datu Roberto Datahan, Member-Cultural Minorities Sector; Re-elected Gliceria Nuez, Member-Farmer/Farmworker Sector; Re-Elected Artemio Cubio, Member-Farmer/Farmworker Sector; Re-Elected Catalino Ordinario, Jr., Member-Farmer Organization Sector.
The following are the newly elected representatives to include Engr. Panfilo Asares, Member-Landowner Sector; Paterna Domapias, Member-Landowner Sector; Engr. Vicente Loquellano, Member-Non-Government Organization (NGO) Sector and Lilia Butron, Member-Agricultural Cooperative.
The PARCCOM secretariat in Bohol is headed by Eddie E. Manginsay, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer I with DAR Staff Julieta Alo and Luisa Jumamil.
The PARCCOM as provided for under Section 5 of Republic Act 9700, amending Section 7 of RA 6657, played a major role in the monitoring, implementation and completion of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform (CARP) especially in the final phases of distribution of the unacquired and undistributed agricultural lands.
