The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) conducted a one day Orientation and Planning Meeting on Climate Proofing for the development of agrarian reform communities (ARCs) in Pilar and San Miguel town both in Bohol.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Grace Fua said “climate proofing for development is a way of analysing risks climate change poses on projects and programmes that we have put together for our ARCs.”
“This orientation aims to integrate climate change impacts as well as awareness of the challenges climate change brings in our development plans. First, we have to identify problems and then create options so that steps can be taken to solve these problems,” Fua said.

“The one major output of this orientation is to have an updated ARC Development Plan consistent with the provisions of the Local Government Code, the Framework, and the National Climate Change Action Plan for the benefit of the agrarian reform beneficiaries in the province of Bohol,” Fua stressed.
Participants in the orientation include Rusell Huiso of the Kasilak Multi-purpose Cooperative of San Miguel; Corazon Galleza of San Isidro Multi-purpose Cooperative of Pilar; Engr.
