National conference of PARCCOM chairpersons

news reg 1 pix 1 nov. 21 2017CEBU CITY (Nov. 21, 2017)—Chairpersons of the Presidential Agrarian Reform Coordinating Committee (PARCCOM) converge in this city for a three-day conference to assess their 2017 accomplishments and to plot their work plan for 2018.

Presidential Agrarian Reform Council (PARC) Secretariat Director James Arsenio Ponce said the national conference is done annually to address problems encountered by PARCCOM chairpersons in their respective areas and to create steps in resolving them.

“This [conference] is where the chairpersons interact with the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) implementing agencies on issues and concerns that need intervention and resolution. It’s also a venue where ideas are exchanged and good practices are shared,” said Ponce.news reg 1 pix 2 nov. 21 2017

PARCCOMs are partners of the PARC Secretariat in coordinating and monitoring the programs, activities and projects implemented by the CARP implementing agencies (CIAs) at the provincial level.

Participating in the conference are 75 PARCOM chairpersons, DAR officials, CIAs namely Land Bank of the Phil., departments of trade and industry (DTI), employment (DOLE), environment (DENR), public works (DPWH), irrigation (NIA) and Land Registration Administration (LRA).
