DAR EV turnover potable water system to LGU Tolosa

piaTACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, Nov. 15 (PIA) –The Department of Agrararin Reform (DAR) in Eastern Visayas formally turne-over a potable water system to the Municipality of Tolosa, Leyte.

This, after the project was completed in partnership with the Agrarian Reform Communities Project Phase 2  (ACRP2) , Asian Development Bank and the local government unit of Tolosa.

Based on a press release sent to Philippine Information Agency by DAR Leyte-Biliran Provincial Field Office, the project will benefit the residents of Barangay Capangihan and Canmogsay who have been dreaming to have drinking water for a long time.

Mayor Erwin Ocana of Tolosa, Leyte expressed thanks to DAR saying the project will be a big help to the people as water is a necessity in our daily lives.

DAR officials from Leyte and Biliran urged the people to take care of the facility and ensure good maintenance for the benefit of the future generations.

The potable water system is sourced from a nearby mountain designed by engineers to serve the residents for the next 10 years or more using a reservoir system with pipes connected to said barangays.

The provision of potable water system is part of the Rural Infrastructure Component of the Agrarian Reform Communities Project Phase 2 (ARCP2) which is supported by Asian Development Bank in order to alleviate the living condition in the rural communities. (ajc/cba/DAR8/PIA-8)
