DAR Provides Farm Implements To Farmers’ Orgs

DAR Secretary Gil de los Reyes said these multi-million-peso worth of modern farm equipment include 37 hand tractors, 30 threshers, 10 cultivators, 8 water pumps, 6 flat-bed driers, 2 reapers, 2 mechanical transplanters, and 2 combine harvesters.
Tolosahay Upland Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TOFAMCO) Chairman Balbino Leona said the farm equipment are of great help to farmers like him for these would help reduce cost of farm production.
“There’s no need to rent farm equipment as these are now readily available for a token fee for the maintenance of the said equipment,” Leona said, adding that it would also make farming more convenient.
TOFAMCO is one of the two recipients in the region of the P1.2 million combine harvester, which functions as harvester and thresher.

ARCCESS is DAR’s new strategy conceptualized by DAR Secretary Virgilio de los Reyes to enhance the delivery of support services to agrarian reform beneficiaries under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
