Cagayan de Oro – The Department of Agrarian Reform-Northern Mindanao regional office has sought to clear any obstacles that are stalling the land acquisition and distribution phase of the government’s land reform program.
DAR Undersecretary for Field Operations Jose Grageda stressed during the sectoral conference with key officials from the regional and provincial levels the need to determine the factors that hindered the accomplishment of certain targets and to provide the necessary interventions.
“This is a crucial activity because we need to identify the problems and concerns of each province for us to make the necessary adjustments to deliver our targets by the end of the year,” said Usec. Grageda.
Each province reported their LAD accomplishments including the backlogs from January to September 2014, and identified the issues that needed to be addressed.
Aside from USec. Grageda, the conference was attended by Senior Agrarian Reform Program Officer (SARPO) Joven Tasarra from DAR central office, DAR-10 Regional Director Felix Aguhob, Asst. Regional Directors Teresita Depeñoso and Eliasem Castillo, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officers (PARPOs), and the regional and provincial operations staff.
A follow-through activity of the above-mentioned conference was then conducted on October 14-15 that focused on matters regarding the LAD information schedule, re-documentation of collective certificate of land ownership award (CLOA), and other LTI activities.
As of September 2014, the total land distributed in Region 10 is 6,816.10 hectares which is 42% of the targeted 16,054 hectares to be distributed for CY 2014. (Florence Ramos/Editha Salvador)
