CAGAYAN DE ORO-The DAR Ladies Association (DARLA) of the Department of Agrarian Reform-Northern Mindanao (Region 10) joined the city-wide opening ceremonies of this year’s Women’s Month celebration held recently.
Spearheaded by the Gender Advocates of Region 10 (GA-10), the celebration kicked-off with a Holy Mass, Opening Program and ‘Pulisteniks’, all held on March 3, 2015 at the RHQ Grounds, Camp Alagar, Lapasan, this city.
DARLA-10 Officers and division representatives bared the activities scheduled for the month:
March 2 – hanging of Women’s Month Celebration streamer
March 3 – city-wide opening ceremonies
March 5 – Gender Sensitivity Seminar to be attended by 4 people
March 9 – (AM) Sponsorship of March Convocation
March 9 – (PM) DARLA GA and election of officers
March 11, 18 & 25 – Knowledge exploration to a Women-led Organization in Misamis Oriental
March 18 – 19 – Supervisory Development Course
March 30 – Women’s Month Culmination Activity
March 31 – DARLA 1st Quarter Assessment (or 1st week of April)
The activity on Gender Sensitivity Seminar (March 5) and the Supervisory Development Course (March 18-19) were handled by the Civil Service Commission.
“Both activities were part of the five capability-building activities of DARLA programmed for the year,” said Mabel Loyola of DARLA.
Guided by the directive of the Philippine Commission for Women (PCW), this year’s National Women’s Month is celebrated with the theme: “Juana, Desisyon Mo ay Mahalaga, Sa Kinabukasan ng Bawat Isa, Ikaw na!” (EJDA)(Photo)
