CAGAYAN DE ORO—The Department of Agrarian Reform Northern Mindanao Regional office (DAR-10) recently conducted a closure assessment on projects implemented under phase three of the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project (ARISP-3).
Regional Director Faisar A. Mambuay said the closure assessment was conducted to determine if the targeted projects under ARISP-3 were implemented.
“This assessment revealed how much and how far the department have undergone to serve our agrarian reform beneficiaries in terms of support services and infrastructure,” said Mambuay.
With funding from the Government of Japan through the Japan International Coordination Agency (JICA), ARISP is a collaboration among national government agencies (NIA and DPWH), local government units (LGUs), and other partner agencies.
ARISP’s objective is to increase household income in the rural communities by at least 30% and improve productivity of at least 129 Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) in 54 provinces around the Philippines by providing integrated package of support services including irrigation facilities, farm-to-market roads, post-harvest facilities, and rural water supply systems.
This project is expected to benefit 68, 330 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in 132 ARCs nationwide. ARISP implementation commenced in 1995 and is now in its third phase, which ran from April 2008 to August 2014 with extension until August 2015.
Participants to the assessment were officials and representatives of DAR-10’s provincial offices.
During the assessment, each of the representatives from the provincial offices listed their projects completed under ARISP-3.
DAR-Misamis Oriental completed seven farm-to-market roads which consisted of the following: concreting of Junction National Road (JNR) Baukbauk-Kabangasan-Mapua-Dahilig Road in Balingoan, rehabilitation of JNR Gimaylan-Tangkub Road & Rehabilitation of Sto. Niño – Oguis Road in Libertad, rehabilitation of Junction Provincial Road (JPR) Benigwayan- JPR Purok 2 Lapad and JPR Barangay Aromahon-JNR Purok 4-Sinai Roads in Laguindingan, and concreting of JNR Poblacion-Talacogon - Aya-aya in Lugait worth P149.8 million. They also announced the completion of a Post-harvest Facility (PHF) at the Lubluban-Santo Niño-Tangkub (LST) ARC in Libertad worth P3.5 million and the potable water system Spring Development in Upper Talacogon in Lugait worth P2.7 million.
DAR-Misamis Occidental bared their accomplishment that included the rehabilitation of the Maribojoc-Sinuza Road worth P12.54 million and the construction of a PHF at COSIBA ARC worth P5.14 million, both in the municipality of Tudela.
DAR-Lanao del Norte reported the improvement of the Junction National Highway (JNH) Poblacion-Sitio Langgoyo-Ramain Road in Sultan Naga Dimaporo and the construction of the Kulasihan-Palao Road in Kolambugan worth P38.05 million.
