DAR turns over projects in Misamis Occidental

Z WEB NATL 20151210 R10 PHOTOOzamiz City - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently turned over the level III potable water system funded under Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project III (ARISP III) in Tudela, Misamis Occidental.

The potable water system was turned over to Tudela Municipal Mayor Estela Obut- Estaño who expressed her gratitude for the project that the DAR delivered in the municipality.

Mayor Estaño then turned over the project to the Rural Waterworks & Sanitation & Association (RUWASA) manager Erenio Taga-ilo.

Mayor Estaño  said the two-year preparation for the said project was laced with many hardships  in order to achieve the level III water system.

“From the main source, we had to pass two rivers and a hanging bridge. But through our efforts and commitment, we have overcome those obstacles and now, more than 150 households are blessed by the said project,” she added.
CARP Officer for Technical Advisory on Support Services of DAR-Misamis Occidental Engr. Cesario Egos thanked the LGU, other line agencies, and the beneficiaries for their support during the implementation period.

“This event proves that we are a model of a good family backed with cooperation starting from the mayor’s office, barangay officials, office of the governor, people’s organization, and other line agencies such as DOST and DTI, ” he said.

CARP Officer for Support to Operations Division of DAR Misamis Occidental Rolando M. Libetario, Jr. who represented Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer I Alibasa Andig urged the  beneficiaries to ensure the sustainability of the project.

After the turnover ceremony, the awarding of 90 horse powered tractors with disc plow, trailing harrow, and 5-ton trailer of Colambotan Bajo, Sinuza, Balon (COSIBA) and SMART Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) under the Agrarian Reform Communities Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) project was also held.

The said turnover ceremony was also attended by Municipal Vice Mayor Samuel Parojinog, DAR Misamis Occidental project coordinators, other LGU representatives, SB members, Brgy. Chairman Joel P. Edusma and his council, RUWASA board of directors, and the members of COSIBA and SMART ARCs. (Diofeleen L. Bacayan/ ERS)
