Farmers’ dialogue

news reg 3 pix 1 oct. 7 2016CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (Oct. 7, 2016)—More than 200 farmers here attended a dialogue organized by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to discuss their issues and concerns on land.

DAR Undersecretary for Field Operations Office Marcos Risonar Jr. (in stripes) and DAR lawyer Atty. Jobert Pahilga (in blue) gave legal advise to farmers and farmer groups who discussed with them their problems ranging from theft, agrarian disputes, land amortizations, land conversion and land eviction.

Undersecretary Risonar reminded them that under Secretary Rafael ‘Ka Paeng’ Mariano’s direction, “no farmer will be evicted from the land awarded to him by the department.”

“We at the DAR is in union with you in fighting and protecting for your rights. We will uphold agrarian laws to defend you and give support for your welfare,” assured Risonar.

DAR Regional Director and Assistant Regional Director Faisar Mambuay and Atty. Merlita Capinpuyan, Assistant Director for Land Tenure Improvement Engr. Joey Sumatra and Atty. Mao Marata from the Office of the Secretary assisted Risonar and Pahilga were also in the dialogue.
