DAVAO CITY—Audit committees belonging to 11 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) here recently underwent a two-day training on internal control and inventory to help sustain their viability as cooperatives.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) Ernesto B. Tan said, “the participants were taught about putting in place an effective internal control systems that would help safeguard the cooperatives’ assets.”

Resource speaker Efren M. Bravo of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) said that the auditing committees were also trained on the prevention and detection of fraud and error, and accuracy and completeness of accounting records.

Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer (CARPO) Raul Larosa said he expects that audit committee members would become more confident to put in place an effective internal control system for their respective cooperatives.
