DAR – S. Cotabato completes PhP3.9 M worth of PAMANA projects

piaKORONADAL CITY, South  Cotabato,  May  22 (PIA) --  The Department of  Agrarian Reform  in South Cotabato  has  recently  completed  PhP 3.9 million  worth of   peace and  development   projects  in  nearby Tupi  municipality, an  official of the agency  reported  Thursday.

Felix Frias, provincial  agrarian  reform officer II, told Philippine  Information  Agency  that these  sub-projects --  13  in  number --  were  constructed  under the PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNAn - Agrarian Reform Areas (PAMANA-ARA).

Twelve of these  were  completed   before the celebration of the Holy Week.

Frias  said these  projects  include  multi-purpose  buildings  in  Barangays Palian, Poblacion, Lunen, Crossing Rubber and Kalkam;  rehabilitation of potable water systems in Simbo, Kablon, Acmonan, Linan, and Cebuano.

Other  projects  include installation of a new water system in Bunao,  road concreting in Bololmala, and a satellite market in Tubeng.

Each  project  costs  PhP300,000, Frias  added.

Apart  from the  aforementioned,  two more  projects  are being implemented  by DAR  in  the area.

These  include  construction of  a  ramp  pump  public water system  in  Barangay Miasong  that has not  yet started  because of  unavailability of a specialist technician  and a public  water system in Polonuling, which is nearing completion.

PAMANA is a flagship program  of the national  government and a framework for peace and development for isolated, hard-to-reach, conflict-affected communities in the country.  (DEDoguiles-PIA 12 with report  from KDSespeñe-DAR South Cotabato)
